Jan is a New Zealander who came to Cambridge in 1970 to do her Ph.D. and then worked in Taiwan for over twenty years in an international agricultural centre. She began writing poetry after her return to Cambridge. She won the 2013 Poetry Society Stanza Poetry Competition, and has had poems published in Rialto, The North, Stand and other magazines.
